Tobias Builders renovated our kitchen/dining area and restored our home after a fire. Each project was handled professionally, with great care, detail and follow through. Our home is of mid-century design; in both instances we wanted to preserve and maintain the design and materials used to build it. Stacy Tobias was keen to honor the home’s uniqueness and educated himself on ways to preserve it best. He’s an excellent problem solver and takes all the precautions to protect the site and keep it clean and free of any hazards. As an interior designer I would be happy to work with him again on client or personal projects.

After seeing other amazing home renovations that Stacy Tobias has done, we knew that we wanted him for ours. We had never done a major project like this, had a limited amount of money to spend, and didn’t know where to begin. We have known Stacy for many years, had full confidence and trust in him, and were immediately put at ease when he proposed his great ideas and began managing our project. Every single item and expense was carefully budgeted on a spreadsheet, and he helped us to prioritize where our money would be most effective. Stacy worked with us and consulted us on decisions every step of the way. He brought his unique combination of many years’ building experience and natural talent for design. His meticulous planning also incorporated functionality, symmetry, and consistency into the style, details, and materials used—in ways that most of us wouldn’t even consider, but that ultimately make all the difference. In addition, Stacy has obviously imparted his high standards onto others whom he trusts to work on his projects, and it shows in the quality of their work. The end result was the transformation of our confined and dated house into an open, comfortable, beautiful, contemporary home, unrecognizable from the way it used to be.
Thanks to Stacy, we love our “new” home.

Stacy Tobias has a gift of being a very visually oriented person. He seamlessly takes an idea and develops an image of it in his head. This gives him the advantage of seeing how an item will fit in a space.
Not having this gift, Stacy was a crucial part in helping me extract my ideas into an image. He was able to take my ideas and show me examples of different options, so that I could find one I was happy with. He was the interior designer for my veterinary clinic, which I opened almost 2 years ago. He helped me achieve the warm and inviting atmosphere that I was striving to obtain. I have received numerous compliments about the office from clients, drug representatives and other veterinarians. Our clients and patients seem more relaxed in our office.
I would highly recommend Stacy to anyone that is looking for an interior designer. He is very detail oriented and focused on the whole picture. He is skilled at working with the clients to achieve the information needed to obtain a successful project.

For my kitchen remodel, I interviewed a few contractors whose work I had seen. Stacy Tobias was the last of the three I met. I was immediately struck by the fact that he really listened and understood what I wanted. As we talked I realized that he was an artist working as a contractor. He had a vision for what we could do that was totally in sync with what I wanted. He worked with me on budget, and promised a finish date that he actually met! Along the way he was extremely conscientious – having his crew REALLY clean up at the end of each day, talking about any issues with my house (there were many!) and making sure we were inconvenienced as little as possible.
Stacy has an eye for detail and he can see the overall picture. I think this is rare in a contractor. I have had many projects done in the past, and most often the small but important details were missed. I was extremely impressed with the way Stacy sees every small thing; it truly makes a difference. I recently had him design and build an in-law unit in what had originally been a garage. It turned out so well I now need to think about remodeling the rest of my house!
I would not do another project without Stacy Tobias at the helm!
